Amy is a graduate of Aberdeen University with a Degree in Land Economy (1993), and a Master of Science in Forest Management (1994) and has spent all her life living and working on estates and farms. On leaving University Amy spent six years working within the family forestry firm and subsequently gained a wide range of skills and experience working in a range of capacities for public sector and private organisations, including large estates and property development companies. This has been in addition to periods of self-employed consultancy, where a variety of commissioned projects have been carried out, primarily for the Forestry Commission and other public sector organisations.
More recently, Amy has become increasingly involved, both professionally and on a voluntary basis, in environmental and ecological research.
