TREE SURVEYS - BS5837:2012
Planning authorities require information relating to trees which are in proximity to proposed developments in order to demonstrate that applicants seeking planning permission have considered the impact of development on the existing trees and woodlands, and have identified opportunities for planning and management of new trees and woodlands.
This assessment needs to be undertaken by a suitably qualified arboricultural consultant in accordance with BS5837:2012 (Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction) and should include the following steps:-
- Topographical Survey
- Tree Survey
- Tree Categorisation
- Tree Constraints Plan
A BS5837:2012 tree report enables architects and planners to design development schemes around existing tree constraints early on in the process, thus mitigating the potential objections to the application from the Local Authority Tree Officer.
We have the skills and expertise to carry out all aspects of the BS5837:2012 tree report. Our land surveyor uses "state of the art" Global Positioning System equipment to pinpoint the location and canopy of the tree, and our arboricultural expert categorises and assesses each tree and suggests any mitigation measures required.
The report can be provided in hard copy or as a dwg CAD file if required.
