Ben joined Bowlts in March 2016 and brings with him over twenty years forestry experience working in both England and Scotland. For the last five years, Ben has worked for Forestry Commission Scotland in Lochaber, with responsibility for 55,000 hectares of the national forest estate.
Ben comes to Bowlts with a range of specialist skills in addition to mainstream forestry practice. These include landscape design, long-term planning and continuous cover management of conifers and broadleaves. He also has a particular interest in heritage landscapes, including historic parks and gardens, veteran trees and specialist tree collections.
Ben is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and holds a doctorate in woodland history.
